What is Somerset Future 30?

Somerset Future 30 celebrates 30 outstanding young people who are making a positive impact across Somerset through their work, entrepreneurship, leadership, community involvement, creativity or innovation.

Who organises Somerset Future 30?

Somerset Future 30 is delivered by Somerset Chamber of Commerce in partnership with sponsors committed to supporting the next generation of talent in Somerset.

Is Future 30 an awards programme?

Not in the traditional sense. Rather than selecting a single winner, Future 30 recognises and celebrates 30 exceptional individuals who are helping shape Somerset’s future.

Who can be nominated?

Anyone who:

– Is aged 30 or under at the closing date for nominations

• Lives and/or works within Somerset
  
• Is employed, self-employed, running a business, or making a positive contribution within their profession or community

Can I nominate myself?

Absolutely. Self-nominations are encouraged.

Can I nominate someone else?

Yes. Friends, colleagues, employers, teachers, clients and family members can all submit nominations.

Can businesses nominate employees?

Yes. Employers are encouraged to recognise talented individuals within their teams.

How many people can I nominate?

Three per company, and each nomination should be submitted separately.

How do I nominate someone?

Complete the online nomination form and provide details about why the individual deserves recognition.

Is there a cost to enter?

No. Entry is completely free.

Can I edit my nomination after submission?

Please contact the Future 30 team if changes are required after submission.

What is the nomination deadline?

Nominations close on 14 August 2026.

Who decides the Somerset Future 30?

An independent panel of judges reviews all eligible submissions using a consistent scoring framework.

What are judges looking for?

Judges will consider factors such as:

Are judges impartial and independent?

Yes. Judges are asked to declare any conflicts of interest and may be excluded from assessing certain nominations where appropriate.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes. Submission information is only shared with the judging panel and event organisers.

How many people will be selected?

Thirty individuals will be chosen for the Somerset Future 30.

When will the Future 30 be announced?

The Future 30 will be revealed on 23 September 2026.

Will everyone be contacted?

Successful and unsuccessful nominees will be contacted directly before the public announcement.

If I am not selected, can I enter again in the future?

Absolutely. We encourage future nominations where applicable.

When is the celebration event?

The Somerset Future 30 Celebration Event takes place on 27 November 2026.

Do selected individuals receive tickets?

Successful applicants will receive a ticket for the event.

What happens at the event?

The evening will celebrate the Future 30, showcase their achievements and bring together Somerset’s business and community leaders.
