Alex Clancy is Assistant Principal for Employer Engagement at Yeovil College, where he leads partnerships with employers, drives business development and helps shape skills provision that meets the needs of industry. Since joining the College in 2021, Alex has worked with organisations ranging from SMEs to major employers including Leonardo, Thales, the NHS, Babcock and the Ministry of Defence, helping connect people with opportunities that support career growth and regional economic success.
Before moving into education, Alex spent 12 years working in retail and technology with organisations including Dyson and Specsavers. Throughout his career he has been passionate about developing talent, building partnerships and helping individuals realise their potential. Today, that passion is reflected in his work with employers, educators and policymakers to create pathways into high-quality careers across Somerset and the wider South West.
Yeovil College is proud to support Somerset Future 30 alongside NextGen Somerset because celebrating emerging talent is at the heart of what we do. For more than 130 years, Yeovil College has been committed to creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds, helping learners develop the skills, confidence and ambition needed to succeed in life and work.
The Future 30 programme recognises young people who are already making a meaningful contribution to their businesses, industries and communities. By shining a spotlight on their achievements, we can inspire others, raise aspirations and demonstrate the incredible talent that exists across Somerset. Through our partnership with NextGen Somerset, we are committed to championing the next generation of leaders, innovators and changemakers who will help shape the future prosperity of our county.
